I was quite surprised to discover how much power some new computers consume recently. When I had to upgrade a comptuer to a 650w Power Supply to get it to boot reliably, I did a quick google search on the subject and found some samples a friendly net user has published. Transcript and link to the full original document below.
----

Core 2 Quad Q6600 (2.4GHz), Asus Striker Extreme motherboard (Nvidia 680i chipset), 2 EVGA Nvidia 8800 Ultra Superclocked graphics cards (for SLI operation), 3 hard disks, 650W power supply, running Windows Vista 64. 360-380W idle, 470-550W when loaded with Crysis (a game benchmark).
